Everything you need to know about how your website is hosted, where your data lives, backups, email accounts, and what happens if you need technical support.
How Often Is My Website Backed Up?
Your website is backed up automatically every single day. Backups run in the early morning hours without affecting your website's performance or availability - you don't need to do anything. Every backup captures your complete website: all files, the database, email accounts, and server configuration. You always have the last 14 days of restore points available at any time. Backup Schedule Backups run daily at around 4:00 AM and are incremental — meaning only the changes since the previous backup are saved each day. This keeps things fast and efficient while still giving you a full snapshot of your website for every day in the past two weeks. How to Request a Restore Backups are fully managed on our side. If you need to roll back your website to a previous date, contact us and we'll take care of it. Please let us know: - The date you'd like to restore to - What went wrong or what you're trying to recover We'll advise the best course of action and handle the restore for you. You can reach us via: - Email - Phone - WhatsApp / Viber - Contact form at ath.dev/contact Important: What Happens If My Hosting Is Not Renewed? If your hosting plan is not renewed on time, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this period your website remains intact but may be taken offline. After 30 days without payment, all website files, databases, and email accounts are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered - not even from backups. If you're having trouble with renewal, contact us before the deadline. Want an Extra Layer of Protection? Our daily backups cover the hosting infrastructure. If you want additional protection with backup verification and recovery readiness checks included as part of ongoing support, take a look at our Website Maintenance Plans. → View Maintenance Plans
Where Is My Website Hosted?
Your website is hosted on premium cloud infrastructure in Greece, managed by us on your behalf. You don't need to deal with any hosting provider directly, we handle everything. Our Hosting Partner: FASTPATH We host all client websites through FASTPATH, a premium cloud hosting provider based in Athens, Greece. Unlike most hosting companies that rent cheap servers abroad, FASTPATH owns and operates its own enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure located in a certified Tier III datacenter in Athens. This matters for your website because: - Speed: Servers are physically in Greece, so Greek visitors get the fastest possible load times with latency as low as 1ms - Reliability: Enterprise-grade hardware (AMD EPYC CPUs, NVMe SSDs, DDR5 ECC RAM) with no overselling - Connectivity: Direct peering with all major Greek ISPs (OTE, Vodafone, Nova) via GR-IX, meaning traffic doesn't route through unnecessary international networks - Security: The datacenter is certified under Uptime Institute Tier III, PCI-DSS, and ISO 14001 standards Two Types of Hosting We Provide Standard Websites For business websites and smaller projects, your website is hosted on our Cloud SSD PRO plan. Each website gets its own isolated space with dedicated resources - no overcrowding. What's included per website: - 5 GB NVMe SSD storage - Up to 5 email accounts (up to 2 GB mailbox each) - Free SSL certificate - Daily automated backups (14-day retention) Annual cost: €75 + VAT/year WooCommerce & Complex Websites For larger ecommerce stores or high-traffic websites, we recommend (and manage) a dedicated Managed Cloud Hosting plan directly on FASTPATH's infrastructure. This provides isolated resources, advanced performance features, and scales with your traffic. If your website falls into this category, we'll discuss the right plan with you based on your specific needs. Do You Have Access to the Hosting Panel? For security reasons, we manage the hosting environment on your behalf and do not provide panel access by default. If you need access for a specific reason, you can request it and we'll create a dedicated user account for you. Who Do You Contact for Hosting Issues? Always contact us - not FASTPATH directly. We are your single point of contact for anything hosting-related. You can reach us via: - Email - Phone - WhatsApp / Viber - Contact form at ath.dev/contact We'll handle coordination with the infrastructure provider if needed.
What Happens If My Website Goes Down?
If you are on one of our Website Maintenance Plans, chances are we already know about it before you do. We monitor every client website 24/7 with checks every 5 minutes - the moment something goes wrong, we get notified instantly and start investigating right away. If you are on hosting only, here's what to do. First: Check If It's Actually Down Before contacting us, do a quick check to rule out a local issue on your end: - Visit downforeveryoneorjustme.com and enter your website address - Try opening your website from a different device or mobile data connection - Ask someone else to check from their end If it's down for everyone, contact us immediately. Contact Us Immediately You can reach us via: - Email - Phone - WhatsApp / Viber - Contact form at ath.dev/contact When you contact us, please include: - Your website address - When you first noticed it was down - Any recent changes made to the website (new plugin, update, content edit, etc.) The more context you provide, the faster we can identify and resolve the issue. What We Do on Our End Once we're on it, we investigate immediately. Common causes we check include: - A recent WordPress, plugin, or theme update that caused a conflict - A sudden traffic spike that exceeded available resources - An expired SSL certificate - A DNS misconfiguration - A server-level infrastructure issue Most issues are resolved quickly. We handle everything on your behalf — you don't need to contact anyone else or deal with any technical details yourself. Why 24/7 Monitoring Matters Without monitoring, a website can be down for hours before anyone notices — losing visitors, leads, or sales in the meantime. With our maintenance plans, every website is checked every 5 minutes around the clock. If something goes wrong at 3am on a Sunday, we know about it and act on it. If you're currently on hosting only and want this level of protection, take a look at our maintenance plans. → View Maintenance Plans
What Happens If I Don't Renew My Hosting?
Renewal terms depend on how your website is hosted with us. There are two different setups - make sure you know which one applies to you. Option 1: Your Website Is Hosted Through Us If we manage your hosting on your behalf, we will contact you in advance when your renewal is due. The 30-Day Grace Period If the renewal is not completed by the due date, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time: - Your website and emails may be taken offline - All your data remains intact and is not deleted - You can still renew and have everything restored After 30 Days: Permanent Deletion If the renewal is not completed within the grace period, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted. This includes: - All website files - Your database (all content, products, orders, users, etc.) - All email accounts and their stored emails - All backups There is no way to recover this data after deletion. Once the account is terminated, everything is gone permanently. Having Trouble Renewing? Contact us before the grace period expires and we'll find a solution together. You can reach us via: - Email - Phone - WhatsApp / Viber - Contact form at ath.dev/contact Option 2: Your Website Is Hosted on Your Own Account If your website is hosted directly under your own account with a hosting provider, renewal is entirely your responsibility. The hosting provider bills you directly, and we have no visibility into your billing status, renewal dates, or account details. In this case: - We do not receive renewal reminders on your behalf - We cannot intervene if your hosting expires - We cannot restore your data if the account is terminated by your provider Make sure you keep your hosting account active and your payment details up to date with your provider. If you're unsure which setup applies to you, contact us and we'll clarify.
